Progressing from Account Manager, and Senior Account Manager level, the Account Director’s job responsibility is to ensure the smooth running of their allocated creative accounts, normally within a Creative Agency. They will inject new ideas, understand the competitive landscape, and deliver responsive creative treatments for a range of uses. The role of an Account Director is to ensure the profitability of these accounts, maintain and retain strong client relationships, forecast their accounts in terms of revenue growth, and advise from a strategic viewpoint so that clients are getting continued support and insight.

The Account Director will also spearhead a successful team of account handlers; conducting reviews, appraisals and ensuring that work is carried out to a timely and highly acceptable standard. They will ensure that their team adhered to strict account handling processes, resolve any issues or disputes and report into the Client Services Director on progress. This role also involves some cross-selling of services to ensure profitability.
