Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our Approach

At The Candidate Ltd we are dedicated to fostering an environment that promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion (DE&I) in all aspects of our operations. Our commitment is to ensure that every individual, whether part of our workforce or our client base, feels respected, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Our DE&I policy is fully supported by senior management and has been agreed upon at the Board level. We are committed to continuously improving our practices to maintain an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace.

We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace not only enhances our business performance but also reflects the varied communities we serve. We encourage and educate our clients on ensuring they also adhere to these principles so this is reflected in the recruitment activity they undertake, both through ourselves and when directly recruiting.

Our DE&I Commitment

Encouraging Equality and Inclusion

We strive to provide equality, fairness, and respect for all in our employment, whether temporary, part-time, or full-time. We ensure no unlawful discrimination based on the Equality Act 2010’s protected characteristics, including age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

Eliminating Unlawful Discrimination

We oppose and avoid all forms of unlawful discrimination in areas such as pay and benefits, terms and conditions of employment, dealing with grievances and discipline, dismissal, redundancy, parental leave, flexible working requests, and selection for employment, promotion, training, or other developmental opportunities.

Promoting a Respectful Workplace

We are committed to creating a work environment free of bullying, harassment, victimisation, and unlawful discrimination. We promote dignity and respect for all, recognising and valuing individual differences and contributions.

Training and Development

We provide training to managers and employees about their rights and responsibilities under the DE&I policy, including preventing bullying, harassment, victimisation, and unlawful discrimination. We take complaints of bullying, harassment, victimisation, and unlawful discrimination seriously, dealing with them as misconduct and taking appropriate action when necessary.

Opportunities for All

We make opportunities for training, development, and progress available to all staff, encouraging them to develop their full potential to maximise organisational efficiency. Decisions concerning staff are based on merit, ensuring fairness and equality in all employment practices.

Continuous Improvement

We regularly review our employment practices and procedures to ensure fairness, updating them to reflect changes in the law. We monitor the makeup of our workforce, assessing how our DE&I policy and action plan are working in practice, reviewing them annually, and addressing any issues that arise.
